These photos – of going through the locks and of Cap D’aigle are together, since attempting to post them seperately is essentially driving me to drink more than I usually do!

We went through the locks (big picture) around one pm on the 24th. We figured we’d get ourselves settled on the other side then go for lupper (later than lunch, too early for supper).  The lock doesn’t open til 7:30 am and since we wanted to take advantage of high tide and the current, my endearing husband figured we should go over to the other side and wake his bride at 4 am (I deserve diamonds in various forms).

It was a brutal night. The boat was being rocked and brutally pulled in every direction. Not good for sleeping and getting up at 4. Next time, I will be taking a sleeping pill for sure. Not quite awake, we pulled off the dock (thanking god to be rid of that blasted thing) by 4:30. This dock reminded me of Soudas Bay Yacht Club. We never stay on the docks there anymore – always anchor – they are super noisey too.

We had the current against us, doing only 3.8 kts til 7:30 then we began to move. I think I clocked us out at 12.1 kts. No photos today folks – it was super rocky rolly, but I did not taste an ounce of bile! Must have my sea legs. Actually have not been sea sick once – knock on wood.

We arrived in Cap D’Aigle (the only deep water port between QC and Tadoussac) at 1:30 ish. larry has taken some video and I will post it in a few days. In meantime, above are a couple of photos showing the tide coming in (boat in the background, a lovely new version of ours – they are heading to Stephenville in Nfld).

If ever here, the code to the gate never changes, 2211 and the wifi code always the same at marina1520. Oh and the bathrooms are freekin spotless!!!Costing us $1.80 per foot to stay here.  Current Coords 47*39.8N and 70*05.8W

Tomorrow Gros Cacuno. Not a marina or anything, just an anchorage behind a breakwater, but calm and quiet.

Til then, stay calm and sail on! :). Xo
